By Hollywood Volunteers
December 31, 2014

Station 7 ended the year by running 5 calls for service on New Year's Eve. The Station took in 2 Motor Vehicle Accidents, 2 Fire Alarms, and 1 Chimney Fire in the first due.

The Chimney Fire was dispatched at 1927 hours for 26188 Skyview Drive in Hollywood Shores. Engine 73, Truck 7, and Chief 7A responded on the incident shortly after dispatch. Engine 73 arrived on location of a 1 story single family with fire showing from the top of the Chimney. Units determined that the fire was contained to the Chimney cap and had no extension to the interior of the structure. Units from Station 7 remained on the scene for a short time before clearing the scene and returning to quarters.

The Hollywood Volunteers ended up running a total of 780 calls for service for 2014(January- December). 2014 was a busier year then the past 2 years of being down on responses(2013 - 698 calls and 2012 - 689 calls). March was our busiest Month with 85 calls and September was our slowest Month with 51 calls. We responded to 24 Working Fires and 18 Motor Vehicle Accidents with entrapment.

The Department will have a new Chief starting January 10th, with our Current Chief D.J. Brady stepping down and his Younger Brother Ricky taking the helm as the 2015 Fire Chief. Chief D.J. Brady has been the Chief of the Department since 2010 and has just welcomed a new born son to his family. Please take the time to congratulate Chief D.J. Brady for his service and to upcoming Chief Ricky Brady on his appointment to the 2015 Chief of the Department.

Units: Engine 73, Engine 14, Truck 7, Truck 1, and Chief 7A
