August 8, 2014

0910 hours Station 5, Station 2, Station 1, and Charles Station 14 were dispatched to 36161 Sunrise Ave. in Mill Point Shores for the report House Fire with people trapped. With a crew in quarters and knowing the assignment was short 2 Tankers, the 5 Volunteers started that direction in Engine 74. Shortly after, Communications alerted Station 7 for the Tanker and Engine 74 responded on the incident.

Chief 5A was first to arrive finding a one story single family home with fire showing from Side A. Engine 24 arrived on location and the crew advanced an attack line to the structure to start a defensive attack. Additional units from Station 5, Station 2, Station 1 and Engine 74 all arrived on location a short time later and assisted with the Fire Attack and Water Supply. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down Companies were able to gain access to the interior of the structure to contain the rest of the fire. The crews also performed searches of the structure that all proved negative.

The assignment was scaled back once the fire was deemed under control to units from Station 5, Station 2, and Engine 74. Engine 74 remained on the scene and assisted with overhaul before returning to service. Engine 74 returned to quarters at 1107 hours.
