Extrication on Sotterley Road

At 1347 hours Station 7, Rescue Squad 1, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 19, and St. Mary's ALS were dispatched to Sotterley Road and Upton Lane for a Motor Vehicle Accident reported one Trapped. Rescue Squad 7, Engine 72, Engine 73, Chief 7 and Chief 7B responded on the incident with 12 Volunteers.

Chief 7 was first to arrived finding a 2 Vehicle Accident with one person confirmed trapped. Chief 7 established the "Hollywood" Command and requested Aviation for a Category "B" Priority 2 Trauma. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 72 arrived on the scene next and went to work stabilizing the vehicles and preparing for extrication. The Hollywood Volunteers worked to free the trapped occupant utilizing the HURST Rescue Tools to remove the doors and roof of the vehicle. The extrication was complete within 12 minutes of the Rescue Squad's arrival. Command advised that they would need 4 transport units and held the assignment with Station 7 and the EMS units responding and on the scene.

Engine 73 established the Landing Zone in the parking lot of the Firehouse for Trooper 2 who transported the Category "B" Trauma to the Trauma Center. Ambulance 798, 387, and 398 all transported patients to St. Mary's Hospital MedSTAR.

Command was terminated and all units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1433 hours.
