At 1524 hours Station 7, EMS Station 79 and 38 were dispatched to 25205 Secretariate Drive in Hollywood for the Deck Collapse. Rescue Squad 7 and Engine 73 responded shortly after dispatch with 10 volunteers. Units from Station 7, along with Ambulance 798 and Ambulance 387, arrived on the scene at 1531 hours to find a deck that was in the process of being attached to a house had collapsed injuring two people. The Squad and Engine crew went to work checking for any other structural instability and assisting EMS with patient care. After evaluating the two patients the EMs requested a helicopter to transport one of the patients to a trauma center and the second to go by ground to the local Emergency Room. Engine 73 established a landing site for Trooper 7 at Tippet's Ball field and the patient was transported by Ambulance 387 to the Landing Zone. Trooper 7 transported one patient to P.G. Trauma Center and Ambulance 798 transported the second patient to St. Mary's Hospital Priority 3. Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1619 hours and the Maryland State Police are handling the investigation.
