By Deputy Fire Chief Bryan Riley
February 6, 2012

At 1926 hours Station 7, Station 2, Station 1, Station 9, EMS Station 79 and 29 were dispatched to 42388 Grayhound Lane in Hollywood for the Structure Fire. Chief 7, Engine 72, Engine 74, Truck 7, Rescue Squad 7, and Brush 7 all made the response with 23 volunteers. As units were checking up, Communications advised that they were getting calls of a large shed on fire with exposure to several vehicles and a house. Chief 7 was first to arrive finding a 20 X 30 shed/garage that was fully involved and that had already collapsed. Engine 72 arrived on the scene, dropping a line at South Sandgates Road, and advancing a handline to the structure. Truck 7 arrived and took position behind Engine 72 and assisted them with opening up. Engine 74 arrived and picked up Engine 72's line while the crews advanced a second line to the structure. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down the assignment was reduced to the units from Station 7 and Engine 224 for water. Units from Station 7 remained on the scene hitting hot spots and assisting the Fire Marshalls Office. Chief 7 (Brady Jr.) held the "Hollywood Command" and Engine 72 returned to quarters at 2149 hours.
