At approximately 1205 hours Monday 18 May 2020, Hollywood VFD Station 7 was dispatched for the Engine and Tanker to the 38500 block of Lockes Forrest Lane for the reported House Fire. Engine 73, Tanker 74, and Chief 7A (Doug Insley) responded with 9 Volunteers on the incident. First arriving units from Mechanicsville VFD found a one story single family home with fire showing. Chief 2 (Trowbridge) established the Command and advised of possible two people trapped. Chief 2 (Trowbridge) entered the Structure with the crew of Engine 24 for a search. Chief 2A (Railey) arrived and assumed the Lockes Forrest Lane Command. The crews working inside located one occupant and removed them from the structure. The occupant was turned over to EMS for immediate care. The Units from Station 7 arrived on the scene with the crews assisting with search and fire attack. Tanker 74 was used for water shuttle during the incident. The bulk of the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes of arrival. Crews assisted with overhaul before being released from the scene. The second occupant was assisted out of the structure prior to the fire departments arrival. Unfortunately the occupant that was removed by fire department personnel succumbed to injuries on the fire ground.

Hollywood VFD would like to take this time to send our condolences to all of the family members of the occupant who perished at the scene and will be praying for them during this difficult time.
