Motor Vehicle Collision on North Sandgates Road

At approximately 1500 hours, HVFD Station 7 was dispatched to the 26800 block of North Sandgates Road for a Motor Vehicle Collision with report of a person trapped. Rescue Squad 7 and Chief 7A responded shortly after dispatch with 5 Volunteers. Rescue Squad 7 arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle collision with one vehicle being a fuel oil truck off the roadway. Crews checked for injures and hazards, finding one person injured. EMS arrived and took over patient care and transported the patient to the hospital. The scene was turned over to Law Enforcement and the Oil company. The units from Station 7 returned to service a short time later. Chief 7A (Doug Insley) held the North Sandgates Command. Prior to this incident being dispatched, Tanker 74 responded to Calvert County with 6 Volunteers for a reported house fire. Tanker 74 was placed in-service from the house fire and responded to the collision. Units from Mechanicsville and Leonardtown VFD also responded to assist with the incident.
