HVFD Responds to Motor Vehicle Accident on Patuxent Beach Road

At approximately 1440 hours on Monday 20 January 2020, Rescue Squad 7 was dispatched to Patuxent Beach Road for a motor vehicle accident with people trapped. Engine 72 was on the air in the area at the time of dispatch and responded with 4 Volunteers. Engine 72 arrived on the scene with Chief 3A, finding a multi vehicle collision with one person trapped. The crew of Engine 72 went to work, stabilizing the vehicle and started gaining access to the occupant utilizing the HURST Rescue tools on the Engine. Rescue Squad 7 responded with 6 additional Volunteers to the incident shortly after dispatch. Rescue Squad 3 arrived and completed the door removal on the vehicle with the trapped occupant. All patients were turned over to EMS for transport. The units from Station 7 cleared the scene a short time later and returned to service. Chief 3A held the California Command.
