Hollywood Volunteers Run Back to Back Fires

On September 4th at 1921hrs, Truck 7 and Squad 7 were alerted to 27480 Woodburn Hill Rd in Co. 2's first due for the single family house fire. Truck 7 and Squad 7 responded simultaneously with a total of 11 volunteers.

Chief 2 arrived to find a 2 story single family dwelling with fire throughout the structure and established the Command. Then, Tanker 74 was added to run with 3 volunteers aboard. Squad 7 and Truck 7 arrived and were directed to relieve crews on Division 1 and Squad 7 Officer to assume Division 1. Members from both units assisted in extinguishment and overhaul. Tanker 74 was utilized in the tanker shuttle operation through the majority of the incident.

After the fire was deemed under control, command released Tanker 74 and Squad 7 while holding Truck 7 to assist in the extensive overhaul and mop-up. Truck 7 then cleared the incident at 2147hrs.

As the Truck crew were making their way to the Truck, Fire Board advised they were taking in another fire in Co. 2's first due.

At 2147hrs, Squad 7 from quarters and Truck 7 were alerted to 30080 Three Notch Rd for the commercial building fire. Truck 7 and Squad 7 responded with 11 volunteers.

Engine 1010 (Bel Alton Vol. Fire Dept) arrived on the scene of a single story strip mall with smoke showing. Truck 7 arrived as the first due special service and positioned Side Alpha of the building. Truck 7's crew threw ground ladders, raised the aerial, performed a primary search, opened up for the engine company, and secured utilities. Squad 7 arrived and checked the Bravo exposure and perform a secondary search.

Truck 7 and Squad 7 assisted with lighting and ventilation. Squad 7 was then held for lighting and assist with the Fire Marshall's investigation. Squad 7 returned to quarters at 0007hrs.

Strong work by all companies involved in both incidents help mitigate theses incidents quickly.
