Engine and Rescue Squad Respond to 2nd Alarm Fire in Solomons

At 2314 hours, Engine 9, Engine 7, Engine 3, Engine 1, Rescue Squad 7, and Truck 3 were dispatched to 14478 South Solomons Island Road for the Building Fire. Engine 73 and Rescue Squad 7 responded shortly after dispatch with 9 Volunteers.

First arriving units form Solomons VFD found a three story multi occupancy building with fire showing from the first and second floors and requested a 2nd Alarm be started. Engine 73 and Rescue Squad 7 arrived on location and the crews went to work performing multiple functions on the fire ground. Engine 73 operated an attack line on the second floor of the structure and finding fire in several rooms and walls. Rescue Squad 7 assisted with scene lighting and opened up on the second and third floors of the structure.

Crews from Hollywood remained on the scene several hours assisting with fire attack and overhaul. The fire was deemed Arson and being investigated by the State Fire Marshall's Office. The units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 0327 hours.
