January 8, 2017

At 1758 hours Station 7, Rescue Squad 2, Rescue Squad 1, EMS Station 79, EMS Station 29, and St. Mary's ALS were dispatched to the 26500 block of North Sandgates Road for a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. Chief 7, Chief 7B, and Engine 72 responded on the call with 9 Volunteers, leaving an additional crew back at the Station.

The Units from Station 7 arrived on location with Chief 7 establishing the Command. Command advised of a single vehicle on it's side with One Person Trapped. The Crew of Engine 72 went to work stabilizing the vehicle and preparing for extrication. Chief 7B was assigned the "Extrication" Group Supervisor with Rescue Squad 2 and Engine 72. The Crews stabilized the Vehicle, performing a "Tie-back" with the Res-Q-Jacks and Grip-hoist. Both Engine 72 and Rescue Squad 2 worked together to gain access to the patient. Once access was gained, it was found that the patient's leg was pinned under the driver seat. Crews were able to free the occupant and extrication was completed within 20 minutes of arrival. The Patient was turned over to EMS who requested the patient be flown to a Trauma Center.

Engine 72 cleared the scene and set up the Landing Zone for Trooper 7 at Oakville Elementary School. The patient was turned over to Trooper 7 who transported to PG Trauma Center.

All units cleared the scene and the Units from Station 7 returned to quarters at 1931 hours.

Units: Engine 72, Rescue Squad 2, Rescue Squad 1, Utility 7, Ambulance 298, Ambulance 299, Medic 5, Chief 7, and Chief 7B
